A cover letter is an important part of a job application because it provides an opportunity for the applicant to introduce themselves, highlight their relevant skills and experiences, and explain why they are interested in the position. Here are a few reasons why a cover letter is relevant and important for a job application:

Broadcast Cover Letter
A broadcast cover letter is a type of cover letter that is more general in nature and is not addressed to a specific person or company. Instead, it is designed to be sent out to multiple companies or employers at once. The purpose of a broadcast cover letter is to introduce yourself and highlight your qualifications and experiences in a way that can be tailored to different job opportunities.

Referral Cover Letter
A referral cover letter is used to apply for a job that has been recommended to the applicant by a mutual connection or referral. It introduces the applicant and highlight their qualifications while also referencing the connection that led to the job opportunity. The letter should express gratitude to the mutual connection for the referral and explain why the applicant is interested in the job opportunity.

Response Cover Letter
A response cover letter is a type of cover letter that is written to a specific job posting or advertisement. It is designed to demonstrate how the applicant's skills and experiences match those requirements listed in the job posting.  Response cover letters may include a statement about the applicant's interest in the position and why they are a good fit for the job and the company.

 RESUME KEYWORDS

Many employers and recruiters rely on software programs to sift through the high volume of applications to identify the most qualified candidates.These software programs often use industry-specific keywords and phrases to evaluate the contents of a candidate's resume and cover letter. Therefore, it is essential for job seekers to tailor their application documents with the relevant keywords to match to the specific job posting in order to increase their chances of being selected for an interview.
